Delegate Don Dwyer involved in car accident

Authorities believe driver ran red light, hitting Dwyer's car

PASADENA, Md. —Anne Arundel County Delegate Don Dwyer was involved in a car crash in Pasadena on Tuesday morning, but police said it wasn't his fault.

Police said Misti Lynn Boggs, 29, of Glen Burnie, ran a red light along Magothy Bridge Road near Route 100, striking Dwyer's car around 11 a.m.

Dwyer and Boggs did not require medical treatment at the scene, but officials later said he did seek medical treatment. His vehicle had to be towed away.

Boggs was cited for failing to control speed to avoid a collision and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Tuesday's crash comes just days after Dwyer was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail for driving under the influence in August and boating under the influence last year.
Dwyer will start serving that sentence next month, and only on the weekends.
