Early-morning city police raids target BGF gang

Police target convicted felons during enforcement campaign

BALTIMORE —Teams of Baltimore City police officers used Tuesday morning raids to keep up the pressure on a notorious gang.

Twenty people were targeted in the raids, which were executed throughout east Baltimore at about 5 a.m., said I-Team lead investigative reporter Jayne Miller, who road along with the officers.
Police said all of the targets were convicted felons, two of whom were murder suspects.
The raids follow the indictment of 48 people last week. The big target is the Black Guerrilla Family gang, Miller reported. The gang was made famous by the big prison corruption case that came to light a few months ago.
Police commanders said they plan to talk about their ongoing enforcement campaign later Tuesday morning.
