Frederick girl, 4, run over by dad in driveway

Police say incident was unfortunate accident

 FREDERICK, Md. —A 4-year-old girl Frederick County girl was run over by a car in her family's driveway Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the incident happened around 8:15 a.m. in the 7000 block of Eagle Court in the Westwinds subdivision of Frederick. 

Investigators said it was just an unfortunate accident. They said the little girl was lying down on the steeply-sloped driveway, and her father, 36-year-old James Kalergis, didn't see her as he headed out toward the road in his car.

The child was flown to Johns Hopkins Children's Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
