Police arrest man on child pornography, forged currency charges

Authorities discover 1,900 images, videos of child porn on computers

LINTHICUM, Md. —Anne Arundel County police have arrested a man on child pornography and forged currency charges.

Stephen Edward Evans, 48, of Linthicum, was charged with distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and possession of forged currency.
Anne Arundel County police received a tip in May from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone in the Linthicum area was receiving and trading child porn online.
Detectives investigating the case identified an address in the 200 block of Twin Oaks Road in Linthicum, where they executed a search warrant, seizing several computers, phones and $1,680 in counterfeit U.S. currency.
Police said they analyzed the seized evidence and found 1,900 images and videos of child pornography that were being shared and distributed to other people online.
Evans turned himself in to state police in Glen Burnie on Tuesday and he has since been released on $20,000 bail.
