2 women sought in Annapolis Mall assault

Victim tells police 2 women jumped her in Victoria's Secret store
Anne Arundel County police say they are looking for two women wanted in an assault on another woman.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Anne Arundel County police said they are looking for two women wanted in an assault on a teen at a Victoria's Secret store in a local mall.

Officers were called to a home in Arnold around 1 a.m. Friday after getting reports of an assault that took place earlier inside the Annapolis Mall.

A 17-year-old girl at that home told police she was at the mall's Victoria's Secret store around 12:40 a.m. Friday to do some Black Friday shopping when she was assaulted by two women.
Cellphone video of that fight was posted on YouTube and has since gone viral.
"A verbal altercation took place, and the people that we see in the video that we're trying to identify apparently approached our victim, telling the victim that she assaulted one of them," said Anne Arundel County police Lt. T.J. Smith.
One attacker then pushed the girl to the ground, jumped on top of her and began punching her in the head several times, police said. A second woman jumped on top of her and started to punch her in the head as well.
Police released still photos of the women (posted below) and said they don't think it will take long for them to be recognized. Police didn’t call them suspects but said they do want to speak with them about what happened

"They're persons of interest right now," Smith said. "Whatever caused this fight was unnecessary because everybody is supposed to be festive and in the spirit, and if you go to the mall this time of year and don't realize you're going to bump into somebody or somebody is going to step on your foot, then maybe you shouldn't go out."
Police described the women as black with heavy builds. One of them was wearing gold earrings and had black hair with red tips. The second woman was wearing a white sweatshirt, police said.
The victim reported that she had never seen the attackers before.
In the video, a person in the background can be heard giggling and making a comment about breaking it up.
Investigators said that they weren't notified about the fight until the injured teenager called them afterward. They said they just recently saw the video after it was posted online.
"It's troubling to us that this wasn't reported to us when it occurred, but we're taking this matter seriously right now. We know some people are out there who know who these young ladies are who are on film," Smith said.
"It's a sad state of affairs that we behave like this in America today. It's supposed to be a happy season, and were fighting over it," said shopper Kris Winternitz on Tuesday.
"Black Friday's great, but there's also the next day and the next day to get a deal, and usually it's not worth hurting somebody for or trampling over one another person," said shopper James Bryan.
