Fire destroys church on Pa.-Md. border early Tuesday

Blaze erupts at Lazarus United Church of Christ in Lineboro
LINEBORO, Md. —Fire crews worked early Tuesday morning to put out a two-alarm church fire in northern Carroll County along the Pennsylvania line.

Fire officials said the blaze started a little after 4 a.m. at Lazarus United Church of Christ in the 5100 block of South Church Street in Lineboro.
The Baltimore Metro Breaking News posted two photos of the blaze to Facebook (posted here). They show that the roof has collapsed, and the church appears to be destroyed.
Carroll County fire officials said at 6:30 a.m. that the flames were under control and that no one was injured.
11 News spoke with the church's pastor, who said he believes the fire started in the back of the building before very quickly engulfing the entire 104-year-old sanctuary.
It's still too early in the investigation to know a cause.
