Lost Md. dog survives 9 days in Maine elements

Severn family lost 1-year-old boxer while vacationing in North Anson
NORTH ANSON, Maine —A Maryland family's dog that went missing on a holiday trip to Maine has been found after surviving more than a week in sub-zero temperatures and severe winter storms.
Dempsey, a 1-year-old boxer that belongs to Jamie Cyrway's family in Severn, Md., was found Monday morning in an abandoned warehouse in North Anson. He had a broken leg and was taken to an animal hospital for care.

Dempsey jumped the fence at Janet Boothby's home on Dec. 28. Boothby is Jamie Cyrway's mother.
The dog was found by Christine Pierce, who doesn't know the Cyrway family, but said she read about the missing dog on Facebook and spent several days looking for Dempsey.
Boothby told the Morning Sentinel of Waterville that she never lost faith that Dempsey would be found alive.
