Police: Car slides down hill, gets hit by train in Perryville

Sheriff's officials say Patti Pucci, 18, flown to hospital Thursday 
 PERRYVILLE, Md. —Police and fire officials in Cecil County said a car that slid down a hill early Thursday morning in Perryville collided with a train, seriously injuring the car's driver.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. at a crossing on Jackson Station Road.
The Cecil County' Sheriff's Office told 11 News that a Hyundai driven by Patti Pucci, 18, of North East, somehow slide down a hill off Jackson Station Road and ended up on the tracks in front of the train, which wasn't able to slow down in time to keep from hitting it.
Officials said the collision sent the car 50 to 60 feet off the roadway.
Pucci had to be extricated from the vehicle by rescue crews.  She was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where sheriff's officials said she was in serious but stable condition. They said her injuries weren't considered life-threatening. 
Jackson Station Road was still closed between Reservoir Road and Route 40 as of noon Thursday. Drivers should take Route 222 instead.
