Man killed by police after pursuit ends at I-95 rest stop

Police: Burglar rammed several police cars from Aberdeen to Maryland House
ABERDEEN, Md. —Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting at an Interstate 95 rest stop that began when officials said a burglar rammed several police cars during a pursuit through Harford County.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday, a burglary was reported at a Target store in Aberdeen.
Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department were called to the store and spotted the burglar trying to get away in a car. Police said the man refused to stop and rammed his vehicle into a patrol car, injuring the officer inside and disabling the car.
Police followed the driver through the area and onto north and southbound I-95. Officials said officers from the Aberdeen PD and Maryland State Police were rammed by the driver during that pursuit.
The chase ended on the southbound I-95 entrance ramp to the Maryland House rest stop area when police said the officers fired at the man, who was the only person in the getaway car. The man was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he died.
Police are still investigating the case. The southbound I-95 ramp to Maryland House has been closed for the morning commute. Officials said traffic on I-95 shouldn't be affected.
