1 of 2 injured in Annapolis shooting arrested

Police: Lowell Hawkins shot Marcus Johnson on Sunday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Annapolis police have arrested one of two injured men in connection with a double shooting over the weekend.

Police arrested Lowell Hawkins, 23, of Millersville, late Monday night in connection with the shooting of Marcus Johnson on Bens Drive on Sunday.
Police were called to that location around 4:30 p.m. Sunday after getting reports of shots being fired.
Authorities said they found Johnson, 22, of Annapolis, at the Eastport Fire Station suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They said they found Hawkins in a car on nearby Forest Drive, also with a gunshot wound.
Both men were treated and released from Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Initially, police reported that both men were victims; however, detectives later determined that Hawkins shot Johnson.
Officials are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
Hawkins was charged with 12 counts, including attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bail.
