Baltimore County police helicopter, ground crews rescue stuck ATV riders

ATV riders become stuck in Back River

ESSEX, Md. —A Baltimore County police helicopter and ground crews rescued two people from a stuck ATV Tuesday evening.

SkyTeam 11 reported that those trapped were on a six-wheel ATV in the middle of the Back River near the Back River Bridge around 4:50 p.m. when they became stuck in the mud.
SkyTeam 11 video showed a Baltimore County Fire Department tactical rescue team member hoist a person onto the police helicopter, which flew them to the Diamond Point Plaza parking lot, where emergency officials were waiting.
The individuals are from a company doing testing for the Environmental Protection Agency, SkyTeam 11 reported.
Two smaller ATV units from the company rescued the second person, but they had issues trying to make their way to shore.
Neither person was injured. The scene cleared by 6 p.m.
