Wael Ali was accused of killing twin brother

BALTIMORE —A former Howard County murder suspect was shot and killed in Atlanta on Friday, authorities in Georgia confirmed to 11 News on Monday.

Wael Ali was accused of killing his twin brother after the brother implicated him for stealing from a store in the Columbia Mall. His murder trial ended in a mistrial.

Police in Georgia said Ali was accidentally shot Friday inside a restaurant by the owner. Investigators said he was handling a firearm Ali wanted him to see.

The restaurant owner now faces charges in Ali's death.
