Man struck on Crain Highway in Glen Burnie dies

Driver remained at scene after incident

GLEN BURNIE, Md. —Anne Arundel County police are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.
Police said a man was struck just before 8:30 p.m. while crossing the northbound lanes of Crain Highway near Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie.
Donald Wayne Warfield, 55, of Glen Burnie was taken to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Warfield was later transferred to Shock Trauma, where he later died.
Police closed the northbound lanes of Crain Highway as an investigation continued.
The driver involved remained at the scene. A preliminary investigation indicated that the cause of the crash is pedestrian error. Excessive speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash.
