2 shot during armed robberies in Annapolis

Victims found on Silopanna Road, President Street

 ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Police in Annapolis are investigating two separate armed robbery shootings in the past 24 hours.

Police were first called to the unit block of Silopanna Road around 10 p.m. Monday, where they found Brett Shumaker, 32, of Harwood, sitting on the roadway. Shumaker told them he had been walking on a footbridge in the area when two men approached him and demanded he hand over his belongings.
Shumaker told police that one of the men had a gun and one had a knife. He said he started to fight with the man with the knife, and that's when he heard the gun go off and realized he'd been shot several times.
Shumaker was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he is expected to survive. Police said they canvassed the area but weren't able to find the culprits.

Police are also investigating an unrelated shooting that happened shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of President Street.
Detectives said SieFullah Bridges, 36, of Philadelphia, was found with gunshot wounds outside an apartment building. Police learned that Bridges was approached by three men who took his wallet and then shot him several times.
The victim was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he's listed in serious but stable condition.
