Snow, frigid temps to move into Maryland

Nor'easter expected to bring blizzard to New York, Boston
BALTIMORE —The Northeast is bracing for a large nor'easter that's heading this way starting Thursday evening, and much of Maryland could see some snow from it.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of the northern parts of Maryland from 6 p.m. Thursday to 3 a.m. Friday. The advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Thursday to midnight for western Maryland, and the Eastern Shore advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday.
WBAL-TV meteorologist Miri Marshall said she expects a wintry mix of rain and snow to begin sometime Thursday afternoon. As temperatures begin to drop into the evening, that will change to all snow.
The NWS said the snow will be at its heaviest Thursday evening before tapering off during the night.
Marshall said she expects much of Maryland to get between 1-3 inches of snow. She said temperatures are expected to drop drastically and will likely be in the teens by Friday morning.
Hazardous travel conditions can be expected Thursday evening and into Friday morning. The NWS said to be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities. Drivers should use caution when on the road.
The storm could bring as much as a foot of snow to parts of New York and Boston.  More than 900 flights to the region were canceled on Thursday.
