Senate votes to ban strong alcohol in Maryland

Measure to ban alcoholic beverages 190-proof or higher 
Feb. 6: The Senate has passed 92 bills so far this session. The House has passed one and that bill was a Senate bill.
 ANNAPOLIS, Md. —The state Senate voted to keep extreme-strength alcohol off liquor store shelves in Maryland.


On Wednesday, the Senate passed a bill banning alcoholic beverages that are 190-proof or higher.
The measure would halt the sale of grain alcohol from brands like Everclear, Gem Clear and Golden Grain.
The bill now goes to the House.
