Burglary reported at Mall in Columbia

Police: 2 men broke into Macy's, left in Dodge truck

COLUMBIA, Md. —Howard County police are investigating a burglary at the Macy's in the Mall in Columbia.

Police and fire crews were called to the mall shortly before 5 a.m. after getting reports of a vehicle crashing into a building.
Crews said they found no car in the building but did see that a window of the store was broken.
Investigators said two men smashed the window and went into the store, where they were confronted by an employee. Police said the men got away without taking anything.
Police are still searching for the burglars, who were seen driving a black Dodge pickup truck.  Detectives said the men were wearing masks, so no further descriptions were available.
The incident comes nearly two months after a 19-year-old went into the mall and shot and killed two Zumiez store employees before turning the gun on himself.
