Several more inches of snow fall in Maryland

4-8 inches of snow expected by Monday afternoon

BALTIMORE —Cold air coming south and a storm coming north from the Gulf of Mexico brought Maryland yet another round of heavy snow by Monday morning, just days before the start of spring.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm advisory for the northern suburbs and a winter storm warning for Baltimore and counties to the south. See which counties are under alerts
About 4 to 8 inches of snow are expected in Maryland.
11 Insta-Weather PLUS meteorologist Ava Marie said the bulk of the snow accumulation would come by 9-10 a.m. Monday. After that, the late March sunshine will make it hard to stick on the ground.
Snow showers are expected to continue until the early afternoon.
Marie said she expects Baltimore's northern suburbs to get between 2 to 4 inches, while the city and areas south, such as Anne Arundel County and Howard County, will get closer to 4 to 8 inches.  Some small pockets could see even more than that.
The roads so far have not been good.  Many crashes have been reported throughout the region, with many 11 News cameras and reports showing how many of the roads haven't been cleared very well.  To check your commute, click here.
11 News reporter Lowell Melser was in Glen Burnie  on Monday morning and said there were about 6 inches of snow by 6 a.m.  He said the conditions of the roads were some of the worst he's seen this winter.
Viewers in Annapolis, Columbia and Windsor Mill all reported about 8 inches of snow in those areas by 6:30 a.m.
Temperatures reached the 40s Sunday afternoon but dropped into the lower to middle 20s Sunday night. Highs on Monday are forecast to be in the lower 30s.
