HANOVER, Md. —Police in Anne Arundel County arrested three people in connection with a fight after a car crash in the Hanover area.

Officers were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to Route 175 at Rockenbach Road, where a fight broke out between those involved in the accident.
Police said an officer who arrived at the scene saw two men assaulting another man, and as the officer attempted to break up the fight, he was pushed to the ground by the two men.
Witnesses told police that a man in one car confronted a man in the other car as he tried to render aid to his two injured sons. An argument ensued and the man from the first vehicle, Richard Travis McCain, 21, of Severn, pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the victim.

More officers arrived at the scene and were able to break up the fight. At that point, another relative of the suspects, Riquita Juanita McCain, 22, of Severn, started screaming at the victim's family and hindered officers and Fire Department personnel, who were rendering aid to the accident victims, police said.
