Light snow in forecast for Maryland Tuesday

Snow to start falling in morning, last through evening
BALTIMORE —The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for central Maryland Tuesday.

The advisory takes effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday until 8 p.m. or midnight, depending on the county.
11 Insta-Weather meteorologist Ava Marie said the morning commute should be dry, and a chance for light snow will start as the morning progresses, probably between 9-10 a.m.
Marie said much of the snow is expected to fall north and west of Interstate 95 during the day, and as day goes on, another burst of snow is possible in the evening.
Marie said because the afternoon temperatures will be above freezing, we won't see much in the way of accumulation. She says the region will see 1-3 inches in total.
The lower Eastern Shore is poised to be closer to the main storm and get as much as 4 to 5 inches of snow.
11 Insta-Weather meteorologist Miri Marshall said Tuesday’s snow could include periods of rain in some areas.
11 Insta-Weather PLUS Chief Meteorologist Tom Tasselmyer said most of the snow that falls during the day will melt on contact except in grassy areas.
Temperatures will be in the 30s during the day Tuesday.
