Man dies in trailer fire

Spilled kerosene blamed for blaze

 QUEEN ANNE, Md. —A man died in a trailer fire in Queen Anne on Saturday night.

Authorities with the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the fire happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Fox Meadow Drive.

Investigators said the man, who was identified as Perry Hoxter, 59, had ignited a kerosene heater in a camper-style trailer, but the kerosene spilled and caught fire.

The victim's wife escaped without injury.

Officials said there were no smoke alarms in the trailer. An investigation is underway.
